Albert D. Lasker, former chairman of the United States Shipping Board has been elected to the executive committee of the American Jewish Committee, Morris D. Waldman, secretary of the body, announced yesterday. Mr. Lasky is an advertising executive in Chicago.
The American Jewish Committee, composed of leading Jews in communities throughout the country, is taking a leading part in the protection of the civil and religious rights of Jews and in combating anti-Jewish prejudice. Dr. Cyrus Adler of Philadelphia is president of the Committee; Judge Irving Lehman and Abram I. Elkus, vice-presidents; Samuel D. Leidesdorf, treasurer, and Judge Horace Stern of Philadelphia, chairman of the Executive Committee.
