Albert Nussbaum, former president of the Luxemburg Jewish Community and director of the Transmigration Bureau of the Joint Distribution Committee in Lisbon for the last year and a half, has arrived in New York.
Although himself a refugee, Nussbaum remained in Portugal where he also served as director of the local Jewish relief committee and as the Luxemburg Government’s commissioner for emigration until the Portuguese Government refused to recognize his passport. He left Luxemburg in October, 1940.
