Alberto Gerchunoff, one of the most outstanding journalists in Argentina, died here at the age of 66. Born in Russia, he was brought by his parents to Argentina and was raised in a Jewish settlement in Entre Rios Province where his family engaged in agricultural work.
An editor of La Nacion, one of the most influential Argentina newspapers, Mr. Gerchunoff took an interest in the work of the Jewish Agency, the DAIA, the Young Men’s Hebrew Association, and other Jewish organizations in Buenos Aires.
