The plan of the Aleph Zadik Aleph, junior division of the B’nai Brith, to extend scouting to many Jewish communal institutions throughout the United States was endorsed at the last meeting of the executive board of the Jewish Committee on Scouting of the Boy Scouts of America.
A resolution was passed at the annual convention of the Aleph Zadik Aleph held recently, adopting Boy Scout work as a feature of the program of the junior order. This would mean that 125 local A. Z. A. chapters throughout the United States would actively sponsor the organization and maintenance of Boy Scout troops in many Jewish communal institutions within their reach. Many of the leaders of this Junior Fraternal Order are college students or the younger progressive professional and business men of the community, to whom Scouting makes a strong appeal.
Twelve of the largest national Jewish bodies comprise the constituent organizations of the Jewish Committee on Scouting, of which Dr. Cyrus Adler of Philadelphia is chairman.
