Alexander Dolowitz, one of the founders of the American ORT Federation and its treasurer for many years, who was also a member of the World ORT Union, died here yesterday, at the age of 80.
Born in Poland, Mr. Dolowitz received his education in New York, being graduated from Cooper Union and receiving a degree in civil engineering from Columbia University. He became chairman of the American ORT Federation’s finance committee in 1931, and was elected to the World ORT Union’s central board in 1937. At the time of his death, he was a member of that central board as well as a member of the executive and administrative committees of the American organization. Funeral services will be held here Wednesday.
