Alexander Kahn, manager of the Jewish Daily Forward and vice-president of the Joint Distribution Committee, was received here today by Premier David Ben Gurion and Ministers Moshe Sharett and Eliezer Kaplan, prior to his scheduled departure for the United States this Sunday.

Earlier, Mr. Kahn and his wife, Sarah, a leader of the Pioneer Women in the United States, were the guests of honor at a reception tendered by the editorial staff of Davar, the Mapai newspaper here. Members of the government and of Parliament and labor leaders attended the reception, where Mr. Kahn’s activities in behalf of the Jewish labor movement and in the wartime work of rescuing Jews in the hands of the Nazis were lauded.

In reply, Mr. Kahn praised the achievements of the new State of Israel and hailed the Histadrut. He declared that the failure of Israel would be the failure of world Jewry, but expressed the certainty that the Jewish State would pull out of it present difficulties. He pledged the support of the American Jewish workers to Israel.
