The Swedish Minister in London today informed the World Jewish Congress that the asylum offered by the Swedish Government to Jews from Denmark is not limited to Danish citizens but has been extended also to the approximately 2,000 Jewish refugees from Germany and other Nazi-held countries who are trying to escape from Denmark.

Chief Rabbi Hertz, in a letter published today in the London Times, express the heartfelt thanks of the Jewish communities in Great Britain to the King and the people of Sweden “for the spirit that impelled their noble protest and humane offer for the Danish Jews.”
