All the eleven accused who have been standing their trial at Verria on charges of instigating and partioipating in the anti-Jewish excesses in Salonica last July, in which the Jewish Campbell quarter was burned down and the synagogue desecrated, have been acquitted.

The counsel for the defence closed their case at 11 o’clock at night, when the jury retired, returning at one o’clock this morning, when the foreman announced that they had found three of the accused, Velissaridis, Abadjidis and Boussolidis, guilty of incendiarism. They had not found the rest guilty of the charges brought against them.

The court thereupon handed down a verdict of acquittal in all cases.
