All Jewish organizations in Poland, as well as the entire Jewish press, mourned today the death of Josef Pilsudski as a great loss to the 3,500,000 Jews of Poland.
All Jewish newspapers in Warsaw appeared today in black borders. The Club of Jewish Deputies in the Polish Parliament sent a message of condolence to Premier Walery Slawek, who was Pilsudski’s most intimate friend and follower. Messages of condolence were also sent by Jewish groups and organizations throughout the country.
SPECIAL RITES PLANNED
The Foreign Office here received today messages of condolence from many Jewish institutions abroad, including the Jewish Agency for Palestine. Special services were arranged here in synagogues in honor of the dead Marshal. Arrangements were also made for Jewish organizations to participate in the funeral.
