All Nathania Greets 340 Exiles

The entire population if this Jewish colony flocked to the beach today to greet 340 including 96 women and 14 children who landed from a motor launch to which they had been transferred from the Greek steamship Aghios Incholaus 30 miles out at sea Mayor Oved Ben Ami Acclaimed the arrival as “the first immigration ship in Nathania harbor.” Colonists sang the “Hatikvah,” Zionist anthem.

The refugees who had been on the high seas for six days were exhausted but other wise in fair physical condition and were overjoyed at reaching Palestine’s shores. The settlers fed and feted them and British police and troops joined in treating them with kindness. Later they were removed to Sarafend concentration camp.
