Order has been restored at Vienna University following an announcement by the authorities that they would not hesitate to take severe measures against disturbers of the peace.

Members of the Zionist student organisations hit back also when they were attacked yesterday and gave their Hitlerist colleagues a thrashing, the police finally breaking in and separating the combatants.

At the Chemical Institute several Jewish lecturers and assistants were compelled to leave, the Hitlerist students keeping up a running fire of interruption and shouting: “We want Aryan teachers only”.

In several of the High Schools, the authorities have given orders that no one is to be admitted without producing their credentials, to prevent non-students coming in for the purpose of conducting agitation.

The Hitlerists have secured a sweeping success in the elections to the student committees, and at the Veterinary Institute, for instance, they now hold a majority of the seats.
