The funeral of Meier Rundstein, President of the Kehillah, who died at the age of 72, was attended by representatives of the Government, the Municipality and all sections of the Jewish community.
President Jablonski of the Municipality, a number of the Vice-Presidents and a group of Councilmen, Jews as well as Christians, participated. Wreaths were sent by the Municipality and the Kehiliah. The procession was in charge of the Jewish boy scouts.
Councilman Jankowski, Deputy Farbstein, Rabbi Perlmuter and M. Podleschewski were among the representatives who delivered funeral creations. Internment was at the cemetery of the Tlomacka synagogue, the grave near that of the late Chief Rabbi Poznanski.
The Municipal Council Building’s flag was at half mast, as was also that of the Kehillah office and a number of other Jewish institutions. Shops in the Jewish quarter were closed during the funeral.
