The American Friends of the Alliance Israelite Universelle announced today that it has opened a special school for children afflicted with trachoma in Casablanca, French Morocco. A total of 667 boys and girls are enrolled in the school, the announcement said.
The teaching methods to be applied will be suited to the special requirements of the institution. The Alliance decided to embark on this program in view of the high incidence of trachoma among Jewish children in North Africa, the announcement added.
