A warning that the terms of the armistice between the Allies and Rumania affecting the status of Jews in that country “will remain an empty gesture unless immediate steps are taken for their implementation,” was contained in a statement issued today following a meeting of the Joint Planning Committee of the American Jewish Conference and the World Jewish Congress.

Both organizations maintain that the Allied military commission, created to supervise the execution of the armistice terms, has a moral obligation to insure that justice is done to the Jewish population.
