The Allied Military Government in Rome today announced the establishment of a special committee to deal with restoration of confiscated property to Jews.
The committee, composed of prominent Italian citizens, will immediately start registering the damages suffered by Jews in the Rome district both during the time when Rome was ruled by the Fascists and by the Germans. Jews in Rome whose homes have been wrecked since the introduction of the anti-Jewish laws in Italy will be housed in temporary dwellings provided for them by the Allied Military Government. Measures will be taken to restore all confiscated Jewish possessions to their rightful owners, the announcement said.
