Almost 200 French immigrants arrived in Israel on Wednesday night. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and other government officials welcomed them as they stepped off a flight chartered by the Jewish Agency for Israel. Sharon caused a diplomatic flap with France earlier this month when he called on all French Jews to move to Israel, citing the recent rise in anti-Semitism in the country.
