Ambassador Harman Starts Three-day Official Visit in Houston

Avraham Harman, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, arrived here today for a three-day official visit to Houston, his first since becoming Ambassador. He was met at the Houston International Airport by Louie Welch, Mayor of Houston, representatives of the Consular corps and the Jewish Community and by Israel Consul and Mrs. A. Caspi.

He spoke at Rice University in a public talk co-sponsored by the Students Organizations of Rice University and Houston University, He also spoke at a dinner at the Westwood Country Club, sponsored by the Jewish Community Council.

He will speak tomorrow at a meeting of the Rotary Club and at a dinner tomorrow night sponsored by the Houston Council on World Affairs, He also will meet with Israeli students studying in Houston. On Friday he will tour the installations of the National Aeronautics and Space Agency and be guest at a luncheon of editors of Houston newspapers.
