Edward B. Lawson, the new American Ambassador to Israel, presented a copy of his credentials to Premier Moshe Sharett today. The presentation took place in the Premier’s office here.
Ambassador Lawson is to present his credentials to President Ben Zvi at the President’s office here this Friday.
British Ambassador John W. Nicholls presented his documents to Mr. Sharett here last week. This is the first time that the envoys of the United States and Britain have come to Jerusalem to make the presentations. In the past, the same formalities were gone through in Tel Aviv.
