The 34th national convention of the Agudath Israel of America concluded here last night with the adoption of resolutions to expand the activities of the organization in the United States by opening new branches in various communities, and to establish more children’s institutions in Israel.
The convention went on record as opposing cooperation with Reform and Conservative congregations in religious matters. A report on the role played by the Agudah in opposing the adoption at the United Nations of a projected calendar reform program was presented at the convention by Dr. I. Lewin, Agudah representative with consultative status at the United Nations. The convention elected a five-man presidium with E. Tress as administrative president.
