The Agudath Israel Organization of America today cabled President Chaim Weizmann of Israel and Acting Premier Moshe Sharett asking for the release of three leaders of the Agudist youth organization in Jerusalem arrested last week in connection with the alleged plot to bomb the building of the Israeli Parliament.
The three men arrested are: Rabbi Shlomo Lorentz, Israel Shadmi and Shimron Siroka. They have pleaded innocent, but are nevertheless denied the right to be visited by an attorney, the Agudath Israel cable claimed. The Orthodox organization termed the detention of the three Augdists “a frame-up” aimed at discrediting religious Jews in advance of the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Israel.
