A newly-formed Committee for Security and Justice in the Middle East yesterday warned that the furnishing of arms to Israel would drive the Arabs “once and for all into the outstretched arms of the Kremlin,” The new group, composed of 29 members, most of whom are well-known anti-Zionists, also urged the chairmen of the Republican and Democratic National Committees to agree on the removal of Middle East issues from domestic politics.
Meanwhile, the plea for domestic political silence with regard to Israel-Arab issues was echoed by the American Friends of the Middle East, which is now holding its two-day annual conference here. In a large advertisement in the New York. Times, the group printed a form which would authorize it to speak on behalf of the signer in favor of “taking the Palestine question out of domestic politics.”
