American Association for Jewish Education Adopts $175,000 Budget for 1948

The American Association for Jewish Education, national coordinating and service agency for Jewish education, has adopted a budget of $175,000 for 1948 to help local communities organize and coordinate their efforts to provide religious education for children, youth and adults, Michael A. Stavitsky, president of the American Association, announced today.

The Association’s expanded program for the coming year will involve the organization of five new departments, including a department for community services and consultation; department of research, information and publication; department of pedagogics and curricular materials; department of personnel services and department of promotional services. Outstanding leaders in Jewish communities throughout the country will be chosen to serve on committees which will plan the work of each of these departments.
