The new trial for Oscar Slater who spent eighteen vears in Pete-head prison on the charge of having murdered an aged Glasgow woman will begin here in a few weeks.
Despatches from America state that William Goodhart of Baltimore who was Slater’s counsel during the extradition proceedings in New York in 1909 and Mr. Mille, his associate in the proceedings, have volunteered to come to London at their own expense to conduct the re-trial to establish Slater’s innocence.
