The fifth annual convention of the American Conference of Certified Cantors opened here today. The organization consists of cantors serving 320 Reform, Conservative and Orthodox congregations throughout the United States.
The convention, which will last three days, will feature a workshop on “practical application of research in Jewish music” presided over by Dr. Eric Werner, well-known musicologist, Guggenheim Fellow and Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Science. It will also discuss the effect of Chassidic music on the modern synagogue service
