American Catholic bishops are publicly criticizing Israel for its plans to expand the boundaries of Jerusalem. “We fear that this unilateral action will prejudice the outcome of talks on the status of Jerusalem and further undermine prospects for restarting the stalled peace process,” Archbishop Theodore McCarrick, chairman of the International Policy Committee at the U.S. Catholic Conference, said in a statement.
