The Philanthropic Fund of the American Council for Judaism has allocated $68, 000 this year for aid to the Jewish refugees from Algeria now living in France, it was announced here today by Henry S. Moyer, president of the Fund. The sum is more than double the amount allocated last year for refugee Jews in France.
Under the Fund’s program in France, emergency aid, medical assistance and help in the drastic housing difficulties are given to Jewish refugees from North Africa, Egypt and the Iron Curtain countries as well as Algerians.
