The American Council for Judaism today condemned the dynamiting of the King David Hotel and other activities of terrorists in Palestine, and called upon Jews to “repudiate the perpetrators of those outrages and those leaders of Jews, in and out of Palestine, whose incitement is equally responsible.”
A statement issued here by Lessing J. Rosenwald, Council president, demanded the end of violence and asserted “that we seek cooperation among all elements of Palestine in the great liberal tradition of equality for all, without discrimination or privilege on the grounds of race or religion. American Jews,” the statement said, “have aided the Jewish community in Palestine generously in the past. They must, if need be, condition further help to that community upon the adoption of pacific, moderate measures.”
