A $300,000 fund for graduate study fellowships at the Institute of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University has been established by the American Friends of the Hebrew University, it was announced here today. Lionel R. Bauman, former president of the American Friends, has undertaken to initiate the fellowship fund with a $50,000 grant made personally and in behalf of friends.
The fund will provide fellowships for graduate students from the United States and other countries who will be coming to the Institute in pursuit of Masters degrees and Doctorates. It will also help finance the study of research fellows from the Institute in the United States. The fund was established following the recent London meeting of the International Committee of the Institute under the chairmanship of Ambassador Philip M. Klutznick.
