Plans for the development of a fur-breeding industry in Israel were reported here today by Herman M. Meltzer, a Chicago fur executive, who recently conducted a survey for the Israel Government of the fur industry potential in that country. Mr. Meltzer, who said the plan had the approval of the Israel Government, has formed a company known as the Israel Fur Trading Corporation, to carry out the program.

The plans for the development of the Israel fur industry include the establishment of mink-breeding facilities with the possibility of a Persian lamb breeding program to follow; establishment of a special village in an underdeveloped area to process the pelts; and the formation of an Israel Fur Institute and Fur Bureau of Standards to control the quality of all furs and fur products. Arrangements have been made to ship 500 breeding mink from the United States to Israel in April, Mr. Meltzer said.
