The American Jewish Congress prepared today to seek American intervention in behalf of the Polish Jews as result of a resolution adopted yesterday by 500 delegates of about 500 Jewish organizations at an emergency conference called to plan action in view of recent anti-Semitic excesses. The conference also called upon the Polish Government “to take immediate and effective steps to protect Jewish life and property” and directed the attention of the League of Nations to “the desperate position in which the Jews of Poland find themselves,” asking the League to “investigate these wrongs and to take such measures as will lead to the re-establishment of law, order and equality.”
