The American Israel Public Affairs Committee today announced that it will undertake a nationwide effort to interpret recent Middle East developments to the American people. The announcement was issued following a two day session held by the Committee in New York at which a resolution was adopted deploring the recent United Nations Security Council resolution censuring Israel for its reprisal raid on Jordan on November 13.
“We deplore this most recent one-sided Security Council resolution of November 25th as unjust and unwise because it failed to condemn provocations against Israel and because it failed to take effective measures to deal with the fundamental cause of the conflict: the illegal Arab war against Israel’s existence and the never-ending threats and preparations to prosecute the war. We fear that this demonstration of weakness will encourage renewed assaults against Israel and that these, in turn, may provoke new measures by Israel to defend its borders and to deter the attackers,” the American Israel Public Affairs Committee resolution stated.
