Gottlieb Hammer, president of the American-Israeli Shipping Company, announced today the election of Arieh Chowers as executive vice-president of the company. The company is the U.S. representative of the Zim Israel Navigation Company of Haifa, Israel’s largest shipping firm.
Mr. Chowers has been the Zim Lines’ operations manager in Haifa since 1951. Prior to that he served as treasurer of the Shoham Maritime Services, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Zim, and was the Line’s European representative with headquarters in Paris.
