Two American Jews, Dr. Henry H. Levy and Mr. Harold J. Loeb, representing a group of six American manufacturers, have completed negotiations for enlisting between 5 million and 6 million dollars of British capital for the inauguration of American manufacturing enterprises in Great Britain, it is stated here.
Dr. Levy and Mr. Loeb, who are now in Paris on their way to Central and Southern Europe, where they are also planning to set up a number of enterprises in Roumania, Czecho-Slovakia and Jugo-Slavia, state that their deal in Britain involves among other American interests refrigeration, chemicals and certain steel products. The capital of the new concerns is wholly British. The sites of plants in Birmingham, near London and in other districts have already been inspected and the prospectuses sent to New York.
It is expected the new plants will be built according to plans of the noted American Jewish architect, Benjamin Levitan.
Dr. Levy and Mr. Loeb claim that their projects will give employment to between 3,000 and 4,000 workmen in England.
During their stay in Paris, Dr. Levy and Mr. Loeb will be the guests of Baron and Baroness Baubigny. The Baroness is a cousin of Mr. Loeb and before her marriage was Madeleine Bamberger of New York. Mr. Loeb is associated with the New York firm of brokers, Messrs. Bamberger and Loeb.
