A nine-man delegation from the American Jewish Committee, headed by Irving M. Engel, president, arrived here early this morning for a ten-day stay at the invitation of the Israel Government. The group will study at first-hand Israeli problems such as immigrant absorption and housing.
The delegation will meet with Premier David Ben Gurion and will tour the country. It will study not only the economic aspects of life in Israel but also its social problems. A report issued recently by the AJC in the United States on the treatment of the non-Jewish minorities in Israel was well received in this country.
