American Jewish Committee officials raised concerns with Russia’s foreign minister about the country’s relationship with Iran and Hamas. In a meeting in New York on Tuesday, Sergei Lavrov told the Jewish leaders that his country has no intention of Iran becoming a nuclear state, and that it does not have a plan to allow Iran to use a small amount of uranium for enrichment purposes, according to the executive director of the AJCommittee, David Harris.
