The Scientific Research Department of the American Jewish Committee is conducting a series of investigations “to isolate those personality factors which play so important a role in intergroup conflict,” and aimed at discovering “the key to the constructive channeling of hostilities within the individual,” Dr. Samuel H. Flowerman, noted social psychologist, author and associate director of the Department, declared today at a luncheon of the New York Chapter of the American Jewish Committee.
Projects of the Scientific Research Department, outlined by Dr. Flowerman, include the collection of clinical material on prejudiced individuals, studies of group and community behavior and testing of anti-prejudice educational material.
