The American Jewish Committee today announced that will hold its annual three-day meeting in New York, Jan. 21-23. Major domesticand foreign activities of the organization, including the campaign on behalf of civil ?iberties in the U.S., international human rights and relations between America and Israel; will be determined at the meeting, the announcement said.
The effects of the establishment of the state of Israel on American Jewish life will be among the first questions which the meeting will deal with. A statement ## views will be formulated outlining the attitude of the organization towards Israel. The opening session will also discuss a community relations blueprint for the 35 chapters of the Committee throughout the country.
Benjamin V. Cohen, U.S. delegate to the United Nations and former counsellor to the State Department, will be the guest speaker at the parley. Other speakers will conclude Joseph M. Proskauer, president of the A.J.O.; Jacob Blaustein, chairman of the executive committee; former Governor Herbert E. Lehman, honorary vice-president; irv-?ng M. Engel, chairman of the administrative committee; Dr, John Slaws on, executive vice-president; Jesse H. Steinhart, of Los Angeles; Herbert B. Ehrmann, of Boston, and ##lan M. Stroock, national vice-presidents; Nathan M. Ohrbach, treasurer; Federal Judge Phillip Forman,. of Trenton, N.J.; chairman of the foreign affairs committee, and Joel ?. Wolfsohn, director of the European office of the A.J.C.
