The American Jewish Committee and the American Association for the United Nations have won the most important educational award in television with their cooperatively produced TV film spot announcement. “There’s a U in UN.” For the AJC this is the second successive year that it has won the top award from Ohio State University’s Institute for Education by Radio and Television.
Dr. John Slawson, executive vice-president of the American Jewish Committee, was informed by the Institute today that the award was made “for a brief, but effective emphasis on the importance of world understanding through animation which points out in effect that freedom is everybody’s job.” The spot, which appeared on most TV stations in the United States, was produced to promote United Nations Week.
