The American Jewish Committee was informed today by Ohio State University that it had won the most important educational award in television and radio for its series of animated cartoons with a brotherhood theme in rhyme and rhythm. The award was voted at the 16th American exhibition of Educational Radio and Television Programs sponsored by the University’s Institute for Education by Radio and Television.
Dr. John Slawson, executive vice-president of the American Jewish Committee said that the prize-winning programs have appeared on all major television networks and on 77 of the 108 TV stations in the United States. During last year’s World Series, one of the A.J.C. spots with a baseball background was repeated many times during the Series broadcasts.
