The American Jewish Congress has endorsed nationwide campus demonstrations set for Oct. 15 to call for an end to the Vietnam war. The event is sponsored by student groups. In a directive to chapter presidents all over the country, the AJ Congress said “although the moratorium originally was intended principally for young people in colleges, we associate ourselves with this effort as a means of dramatizing the desire of Americans in all walks of life to bring about an end to the war.” Among the activities suggested for chapter members were community meetings, petitions and letter-writing campaigns, efforts to obtain resolutions from local government bodies and observances in plants and offices.
