A proposal that civil liberties organizations be permitted to file complaints against discriminatory employment practices was made here yesterday by Will Maslow, director of the American Jewish Congress’ commission on law and social justice, at a public hearing of the New York State Commission Against Discrimination on proposed new rules governing its procedure. At present only individuals may file requests for investigation and action.
Maslow and representatives of other civic, labor, business and professional groups also proposed that greater publicity be given the work of the Commission and that public hearings before it be mandatory.
