The executive committee of the American Jewish Congress yesterday termed the U.N. General Assembly’s decision to set up an international regime for Jerusalem as a “flight from reason and reality powered by vested interests, unsavory political ambitions and persistent anti-Israel aminus.”
The Agudas Israel World organization, at an executive board meeting, adopted a resolution declaring that the “Jewish people, indissolubly connected with the Holy City of Jerusalem, will never agree to any form of separation from it.” The resolution added that “since implementation of the decision might lead to serious disorders and unrest, Agudas Israel appeals to the U.N. not to implement its decision and reconsider the question of Jerusalem.”
