A resolution calling upon the United States to Extend formal recognition to the Jewish state in Palestine, which will be proclaimed way l6, was adopted here last night at a meeting of the executive committee of the American Jewish Congress.

Describing the present United Nations deliberations at Lake Success as “a futile and last-minute effort to thwart the establishment of the Jewish state on the eve of the fulfillment of the age-old aspiration of our people,” the resolution urged the U.S. Government, in granting recognition to the Jewish state, “to render it, in a spirit of fellowship and cooperation, all assistance in establishing itself, in equality and dignity, among the democratic nations of the world.”
