American Jewish leaders representing a broad spectrum of secular and religious organizations urged in a letter to President Clinton that NATO forces stationed in the former Yugoslavia be directed to arrest indicted war criminals still at large in Bosnia. “Mr. President, we plead with you to ensure that the pursuit of justice in Bosnia is not abandoned,” said the letter signed by 27 leaders. The leader of the Bosnian Serbs during the fighting in Bosnia’s three-year civil war, Radovan Karadzic, was among those whose arrest the Jewish leaders urged.
