American soldiers, part of the A.E.F. stationed in Ireland and England, mingled with men of the armed forces of many of the Allied Nations at Passover services in crowded synagogues throughout Britain. Many of these soldiers were accommodated at seders in private homes, while others attended seders conducted by Jewish organizations.
One of the most crowded public seders was that sponsored by the Polish-Jewish Refugee Fund. Included among the guests was Polish Minister of Labor Jan Stancyzk and other prominent Polish and Czech officials. The seder conducted by the Ehrlich Society here was photographed by representatives of the British Ministry of Information and will be included in future photographic exhibit to be arranged by the Ministry.
Chaplain Arraus of the Free French forces broadcast a Passover message to Jews of France over the British Broadcasting System. He called upon the French Jews to keep faith in “the triumph of justice which will soon come and will bring deliverance to mankind.”
