Many American Jews flocked to the United States consulate here today offering their services to their country in the war against the Axis.
Lowell Pinkerton, United States consul in Palestine, recorded the names of all who came to the consulate and stated that he would notify them if they are required to report for duty. American civilians here cannot enlist in the United States forces without returning to American territory but reserve officers may be ordered home or instructed to report to military authorities of the Allied forces. All Americans who have not as yet done so have been advised by Mr. Pinkerton to register immediately at the consulate.
