American Mountain Renamed in Honour of Jewish Airman Killed There While Making Survey Flight

Bald Mountain in the Baker River District has been renamed Mount Blum in commemoration of John Blum, a Jewish aviator, who was killed in his plane on November 1st., it is announced by the Bellingham office of the Federal Geographical Survey.

John Blum, who was 26 years of age, was working with the Forest Service piloting rangers in forest fire inspection work, when his six passenger Ryan cabine monoplane, carrying four well known Seattle men, crashed on the Sunset Highway.
