Dr. Abba Abrams, national director of tourism for the American Committee for Israel’s 10th Anniversary Celebration, has been appointed executive administrator of the Tourist Industry Development Corporation, Ltd, Lawrence G. Laskey, American chairman of the board of directors, announced today.
The corporation was recently established by the Israel Government to further the development of the tourist industry by granting loans for the building of hotels motels, Bible Inns and for the modernization and improvement of existing enterprises.
In the past 7 months the corporation enabled 16 motels to add 430 new rooms and helped 19 hotels to carry out considerable improvements. The corporation is encouraging private investments for the development of beaches, seaside resorts, golf links and fishing facilities, to attract and hold tourists.
