The American Palestine Trading Corporation today announced the signing of contracts with the Jewish Agency for the purchase of building materials and agricultural machinery in the United States totalling more than $3,000,000.
Mr. Abraham Dickenstein, president of the Corporation, said that the purchases will include aluminum sheets and pipes, and agricultural machinery, and will make possible the immediate removal of several thousand families from the transition camps to Jewly established villages. “The aluminum sheets will be used for roofing, the pipes for irrigation purposes, and the machinery for farming,” he stated.
At the same time, Samuel A. Dickler, manager of Israel Purchasing Service, gave details of the machinery and materials purchased and announced that shipment of these vital materials will be made during the months of April and May.
