A 30-member American Religious and Cultural Leadership group, sponsored by the New York Board of Rabbis, will leave tomorrow for a convocation in Israel. The 30 members of the group will meet with known Israelies and attend seminars during a 26-day stay in Israel. From there they will tour Rome, Venice and Florence, returning to the United States on August 9.
Mayor Eubank of Daytona Beach has designated Rabbi B. Leon Hurwitz, a member of the group from that city, as the city’s "Ambassador of Good Will" to the mayors of Israel. The Mayor gave Rabbi Hurwitz a letter of introduction and a collection of keys to the city. Mayor Eubank also sent letters directly to the mayors of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Safed and other cities, concerning Rabbi Hurwitz designation by Daytona Beach.
